8 years in this Malaysia Comic Industry, 1 thing I have to say... I'm lucky to be here with Art Square Group who really works their best to ensure that our local comic industry grows larger not only in our own land but also to other region. Started with GEMPAK™ magazine 10 years ago, there are pros & cons but I'm grateful nothing can breakdown the majority of souls in this team. Whatever people said or demands that we have to bare, slowly we are making progress & improvement. There are things we need to sacrifice but with God's will, we are moving forward & POPCORN™ is our latest prove.
With local price of RM15.90, do u think it's expensive? In my years of experience, with a comic magz with such printing quality & size, I would say this is affordable. Browsing at Kino looking for similar magz with such price, only POPCORN™!
10 years GEMPAK STARZ™ has been doing comic magazines for majority readers of 7 - 25 years old, Mostly for casual readers who prefer fun drawing & commercial storyline. Now after long demands from our local profesional comic artists, finally we published an international standard magazine only for such artists. Most importantly, we not only prefer to buy the artworks & own the copyright but we also publish artworks for those who doesn't want to sell it so they can own the copyright (but free promotion!).
