IPCC 2009 PITCHING DAY (30/07/09)
Interesting... again in this pitching I face the same jury (as last year) who came out with race issue. He purposely quoted on one of the artwork saying the artist should show the look of Malay by drawing character with the look of Malay. I questioned myself in the perspective as a comic artist, how can I draw someone with the malay look? The problem is he commented the issue on a Malay finalist with great artworks. The character wear Malay classic outfit, but he (the jury) thought the character drawing doesn't reveal much on the look of a Malay because the character has white hair and pale skin. Then I responded the old man looked like my late grandfather who had white hair and tough face feature just like the drawing. He totally disagreed & fought back with an anger, which then I just keep quiet because what's the use fighting for something I'm always right and majority agreed. In the name of Allah, who are you to label his creation in term of races?! Tawadhuk before you speak my brother.
